I really wanted to love the Givenchy Le Rouge Velvet Matte Long-Lasting Lipstick, and while it didn’t fully meet my expectations, there are definitely things about it that I appreciate. The formula is impressively moisturizing for a matte lipstick, which makes it feel comfortable on the lips throughout the day. That said, I found the staying power didn’t quite live up to the “long-lasting” claim especially after eating or drinking. Also, the shade I received, unfortunately, wasn’t the best match for my complexion. It leaned more toward a cool-toned nude, which didn’t quite flatter my undertone. I imagine it would look stunning on someone with a different skin tone. What really stands out, though, is the sleek, tube. It’s compact enough to throw in your bag for touch-ups on the go. There’s also a generous amount of product inside, so you’re getting good value for the design and finish. Overall, while I’d personally opt for a different shade and something with a bit more staying power, the texture, presentation, and portability are definite highlights.

After trying this lip matte lipstick from Givenchy, I have officially fallen in love with this brand. First off, it blurs those fine lines on my lips and smooths them out. The color is stunning and highly pigmented. It lasts a long time and is very easy to come off at the end of the day. Love my new lippie!

Great product

It was really nice. It was very thin so I don’t know if there’s a lot of product in it. Overall it lasted around 3 hours without reapplying or smudging. My mom and I loved it.

I don’t love the color but it stays on for a while- the texture is a little harder than I expected but overall a nice feel on my lips. The packaging is simple and nice.

A lipstick that also hydrates

Love this lippie. It feels lightweight on the lips. It's creamy and makes my lips feel soft and long lasting. The packaging is so cute and feels like luxury. The color is pretty it's not too red. I have never seen a matte lipstick that contains Hyloronic acid and Shea butter that means it's not gonna dry my lips out.

It’s Nice, but Not Something I’d Reach for Everday

For a matte lipstick, it is very creamy! It’s super easy to apply and it’s a very flattering shade! The packaging is heavy and super nice! It’s not a lipstick I’d for reach for on a daily basis, but I would reach for it if I plan on going out.

This is a really beautiful lip product with a gorgeous color payoff — a little truly goes a long way. It applies smoothly, but I find that I need to layer a gloss on top to keep my lips from looking dry or cracked. The scent is noticeable and reminds me of baby powder. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s definitely something to be aware of. Overall, I really like this product and appreciate its quality, but considering the price point, I’m on the fence about repurchasing. It’s great, but not necessarily a must-have for me.
