ITS ORANGE

I was so excited to get this foundation in the mail- I am a huge fan of hourglass and own their Vanish stick foundation and love it, the colors are wonderful. This liquid foundation wasn't at the store so I picked my color based off of the stick foundation. and wow what a disappointment. This shade of "ivory" is just straight up ORANGE. And this was not cheap foundation. I travel for work so by time I finally opened this up it was too late to return to a Sephora. I hope this will help anyone who is wanting to try this out- to stay away or wait until you can test out in a store.

My Current Foundation Favorite

Ordered this again after using 5 in winter and 6 in summer. Love the coverage versatility. Less during dau with damp beauty blender and more for glamorous nights. My face looks “natural perfect”. I use Chanel, Lancôme,” Tom Ford and Bobby Brown and prefer this currently. Went on vacation for 12 days and only brought this foundation. Great product.

This is, without a doubt THEE best foundation I have ever used and I have tried many! My skin just GLOWS with this and I am 58 years old!

Very Heavy Not Natural Coverage

I do not really like this product and considering its price it's a waste of my money. It's just too heavy and very opaque when you apply on. It says "light-medium coverage" but it does not look natural on your face at all. It's more toward full heave coverage which they should describe it more accurately for this product. Besides, the worst thing is that the pump just stops working after a while and I cannot return it any longer. The pump just not working so I have to open the cap and pour the product out each time. It's indeed a very disappointment experience with an expensive product.

This is unlike any fluid makeup I've ever used, it improved the appearance of my skin the first time I used it. There was a learning curve for me because it is different. I put only a tiny amount in the palm of my hand

Its ORANGE - WTF?!

I love the Hourglass brand, and I've been on the hunt for my HG cruelty free, lightweight foundation, so I was super excited to try this product. I eagerly swatched it as soon as it arrived, but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I saw that this stuff was straight up orange. As a super pale girl, it's not uncommon for even the lightest shades to not be light enough or to be too warm, but this discrepancy between expectation and reality was on another level. It was a solid 4-6 shades darker than my skintone, not even close to being in the realm of a light shade. I examined the package to make sure they sent the right thing, and sure enough, despite looking nothing like the swatch in the photo, it was correct. I was in such disbelief that I shook it well and tried it again, but still orange. Really hope Hourglass reworks their formula to actually accommodate pale skin.

Colormatch across the brand is not consistent

The shade selector based on my current use of Hourglass Illusion in ivory, I purchased Veil in ivory. Not even close. The jar with a dipstick lid is messy but I like how the fluid smoothes on easily. Will need to try the lightest neutral offering. Once I have the correct color, I will update this review. I do like Hourglass.

Not the one for me.

I desperately wanted to love this product. I have sensitive/combo skin. I have used SO many different foundation brands and formulas over the years (high-end, drugstore, and everything in between - the addiction is real), and this is the first foundation that made me break out. This wasn't just a minor breakout that cleared up overnight. This was a monstrous breakout that took over a week to get under control. I even had pimples in areas that I have never had issues with before. Furthermore, while it looked fine on my forehead and cheeks, it looked horrendous around my nose, mouth, and chin. I have not experienced that before, either. As much as I love Hourglass (really only their powder products), this was definitely not a winner for me. I will be passing this along to a friend who does not have sensitive skin and has been wanting to try it.

Me- over 40 Black female with an ongoing war with my adult acne. Skin care regime consists of La Mer but the outbreaks continue. Love the high end foundations- GA, LaMer, D&G, Tom Ford.. these foundations are great but when I have an outbreak , the foundations don’t help. Minions ago I tried HG but the shades selection was limited. Next to acne breakouts I contend with enlarged pores and hyperpigmentation. The above foundations would work at least 4 hours in Summer longer in Winter. We all had that glamorous experience in the makeup chair only to try at home and fail. This foundation, I am able to duplicate with less fuss ( use of powder or setting spray ). I use with the HG Veil or the 28 and in Winter it’s the 28 Summer the HG Veil. Regardless I will have my hormonal acne flare ups, but with this product it really heals it. I will give it five stars because it can be a one for all - oil, dry or combo. Skin care is key along use of either of the HG primers. I use with the Vanish HG brush but this also works well with fingertip application. I can only ask for HG to expand its shade selection more. I am a Chestnut and Walnut but there should be more shades to expand better selections.

I have used Hourglass products for a few year and have been thrilled with them; especially with my sensitive skin! No foundation lines! smooth skin no breakouts or clogged pores. Use with the Primer serum. It's worth every penny nothing compares!
